SOLDIER SPOTLIGHT
Todd Anthony Allen
-
Todd Allen grew up in Ransomville, NY, where he learned early the value of hard work—In 2006, at age 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After completing Basic Training at Fort Knox, Todd headed to Advanced Individual Training. His MOS was 63 Bravo Deisel Mechanic. Then he went to Airborne training in Fort Benning and after he joined the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, one of the most elite units in the U.S. Army. Todd found real joy in airborne operations—jumping out of planes was more than a job; it was something he truly loved.
-Deployments, Camaraderie, and Courage-
During his deployment, Todd was assigned to the Iraq Army Military Transition Team, serving as a driver and mechanic. According to his Chief of the MITT Team, “Todd Allen’s performance was exemplary. His work ethic, professionalism as a paratrooper, and his character under often trying conditions were truly remarkable.”
Another sergeant echoed that praise, stating, “Allen not only served as our primary driver during missions, but also stepped up as a team mechanic. He was constantly fixing something or looking for ways to improve our equipment and quality of life. He’s a self-motivated, self-starter—both rare qualities to find in a PFC.”
Others described him as a man of integrity and a soldier who consistently set a positive example for his peers. One Sargeant added, “His performance was outstanding, to say the least. He used the skill set gained from his MOS to tirelessly maintain the mission-essential vehicles. He always accomplished his assigned tasks to standard and was quick to assist other team members.”
-Carrying His Service Into Civilian Life-
Everything Todd did in the Army—every mission, every hardship, every lesson—shaped the man he became after the uniform. The skill sets he gained, from mechanical know-how to leadership under pressure, followed him home. But it was the resilience he developed in combat that carried him through the personal battles he faced afterward.
Like many veterans, Todd encountered challenges in civilian life. But instead of being defeated by them, he leaned on the strength he forged in the Army. He pushed forward with the same grit, sense of purpose, and determination to lead by example. No matter what life threw at him, Todd came out on top—not just because of what he endured, but because of who he had become.
Today, Todd is focused on what matters most—his faith, his family, and the quiet strength that comes from a life of service. He’s doing his best to enjoy each day alongside his wife and their three children, building a life rooted in love, purpose, and resilience.
